Course Title: Field Force Extrication Tactics (FFET) Training Program

Course Description:

Class Dates: August 24, 25, 26, 2017

Class Hours: 24

Class Times: 0800 to 1700

This 3-day program provides information required to address protestor devices and techniques found during opposition or demonstrations at alternative fuel related sites as well as other facilities often targeted by organized protest groups. In recent years groups have developed new devices and tactics which delay and challenge rescuers. These actions put rescuers at risk of injury while also putting them in a position to potentially harm the protesters when in fact trying to free them.

Much of the program is hands on practical exercises during which the responder will be able to demonstrate safe work practices for removing individuals from a variety of unique protestor devices. EMS, law enforcement and other emergency personnel are encouraged to attend along with firefighters and rescue agencies since all play a vital role in such incidents. The program is presented by instructors from the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
